We had a lot of fun this week using Augmented Reality. It allowed us to visit the Moon and land spacecraft. Augmented reality users the iPad camera to place an object in the classroom. As we move the camera around we can look at objects from all angles. For the Moon we went to the Halla as we needed to be able to walk around more. Some of the children even took it to the yard and really got to walk around exploring even further. The video gives you an idea of how we opened a Portal to the Moon. More of this in them months to come I think.
We wrapped most of our mission today. Finishing touches were put to our Apollo 11 writing assignment. We hope to publish a few of them in the coming days.
We had been hoping to get a class or two to visit us but this has been put off to Monday. We simply had too many habitats to get ready and we were having far too much fun using the iPad to explore the Moon in Augmented Reality. We'll have a full video of our week to share next week but in the meantime here are a few images of our goings on.
We messed about with a bit with the Green Screen too so we should have a pretty epic class photo to share in the new week too.
Cormac has had a great Space week again. So he might be nice to them on the homework front some day this week. :)
